Our wonderful friendship started in Westlake Village, California, when we became next door neighbors.Like most men, our friendship began over the BBQ. I could consistently count on your dad starting the BBQ right about 7 pm every evening. My salivating glands would begin to work overtime! One evening (after numerous nights of torture) I jumped up on my short wall, looked over the fence and asked your dad, “What’s cookin’?”Years later when I retired to Gardnerville, Nevada, we maintained contact and Gerry came for a work related event and ended up staying with us. The first morning during breakfast I asked him how he slept and his reply was that he “knew he was out in the boondocks because the cows woke him up”!!Through our children’s weddings and grandchildren’s births we have maintained our friendship and camaraderie, once again becoming neighbors in Lincoln, California. Gerry and Pat have a great sense of humor and we can always count on a great time whenever we are with them. Despina describes them as the salt of the earth. We all have many acquaintances, but true friends are few in number, and we consider your parents true friends. They are always available when we need help, a meal or a friend, and that is what friendship is all about. We wish them good health and long life,John and Despina
