Happy Anniversary from Gloria Mills

Pat is my cousin (our mothers were sisters) and I have known her since I was a child. My parents, Ed and Olive Adams, lived just outside of Chicago in Wood Dale, IL, when Pat first came to the Windy City to work for TWA. She spent some time at our house before she got settled in a place of her own and visited often after that. I remember envying her the opportunity to be able to work for an airline and travel to distant places.
I first met Gerry when Pat brought him to dinner at our home to meet my family while they were still dating. They were a perfect match even then, and whenever they visited, there were always stories and laughter around the dinner table. Though we have not been able to be together often throughout the years, the intervening time seems to vanish whenever we do meet -- and the stories and laughter around the dinner table continue on.
I was able to travel with Pat and one of my nieces to some of the eastern European countries a few years ago. It was a wonderful trip and a great opportunity for my niece to spend time with a cousin who has her head and her heart in the right place, knows how to meet the world straight on, and enjoys the absurdities life throws at us from time to time.

My heartfelt congratulations go out to Pat and Gerry on their 50th wedding anniversary. May this day be one of great happiness for them and a celebration of the joy and love they have brought into the lives of their families and friends.
Gloria Mills
